The Centre de la Biodiversité du Québec (the “Center” or otherwise designated by “we”, “us”, “our”) developed this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) for the purpose of describing its practices to you pertaining to the collection, use, communication, sharing and management of the personal information provided on the Website or in the context of a transaction made via the Website.

Our Policy also describes the measures we take to protect your personal information and how you may access, modify or delete such information.
For the purposes of this Policy, any reference to the Center is deemed to include its affiliated and related companies and their respective officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and other representatives.

If you do not agree to the Terms and Conditions regarding the collection, use, disclosure, and/or sharing and management of your personal information set out in this Policy, please refrain from using the Website and terminate your visit immediately.


You may choose to provide us with personal information when you visit the Website or when you talk to a ticket agent over the telephone. For example, certain information may be requested by telephone or when you complete a transaction from the Website to purchase tickets or otherwise initiate a connection with us through any of the various means available on the Website, including, but not limited to, your last name, first name, mailing address, billing address, shipping address, city of residence, province of residence, country of residence, age, sex, home phone number, cell phone number, email address, credit card number and expiry date, CVC code, and any other personal information you may provide in connection with a ticket order. You may be asked for other unique personal information to access certain portions of the Website, including your username and password.

Personal information is also collected automatically when you visit the Website, including your IP address.


We collect the personal information you provide when you make a transaction from the Website or use other features of the Website, including when you participate in activities such as:

  • Complete a transaction from the Website;
  • Subscribe to mailing lists, newsletters and email communications to receive promotional offers and news; and or
  • Contact us to ask a question, submit a comment or make a complaint (customer service)

Completing a transaction from the Website.

You may use our Website to purchase tickets. We then use the personal information you provided to process your request, complete the transaction with your financial institution and deliver the purchased tickets by email.

Subscribing to our mailing lists, newsletters and email communications.

Occasionally, we may collect certain personal information (for example, your surname, first name, mailing address, billing address, shipping address, city of residence, province of residence, country of residence, age, sex, home phone number, cell phone number and email address) to send you emails about our latest news, products, services or promotions, as well as those of our partners (for more details, please see the section “Disclosure of personal information” below).

You may remove your email address from the distribution list at any time by following the instructions contained in each email. You may also remove your email address from the mailing list by contacting us as described in the “Contact Us” section below. Your request will be processed within the time limits prescribed by law.

Contacting us for the purpose of asking a question, submitting a comment or making a complaint (customer service).

When you send us an electronic feedback form or an email with your comments, questions or feedback, we collect certain personal information as well as your comments, suggestions or feedback. This personal information will be used to respond to your comments, questions or feedback. In addition, we may retain this information for the purpose of helping you in the future.

We may also use your comments, suggestions or feedback to monitor and/or improve our product and service offerings and our Website.


When you participate in any of the activities described above, we collect the personal information provided as part of these activities to complete and update our customer relations management databases, and provide such information to our partners so that they can also maintain such databases (for more information, please refer to the section entitled “Disclosure of Personal Information” below). As such, the personal information collected is used to generate mailing lists and reports for internal use, particularly on visitors’ statistics or relations between you, the Center or its partners for the purpose of monitoring and/or improve our Website or the products or services offered to you.


IP addresses and clickstream data

When you visit our Website, the Center may collect certain information about you. We collect IP (Internet Protocol) addresses of all visitors to the Website, clickstream data and other information, such as other websites visited immediately before and after visiting our Website, requested pages, type of browser, operating system, internet service provider, number of visits to the Website, and the date and the average time that you spent on the Website.

We use this information to monitor, manage and improve the Website as well as our products and services, determine how the Website is used, understand which parts of the Website are popular and analyze usage habits.



Except as expressly set forth in this Policy, we do not proceed without your consent to sell, lease, transfer or disclose your personal information to third parties for undisclosed purposes.


We may transfer your personal information:

  • to service providers, that is, third parties (or otherwise make them available) that provide services on our behalf in Canada, the United States or abroad. We provide our service providers with the information they need to fulfill their mandate, and we do not authorize them to use or disclose your personal information for their own business or for other purposes;

The Website may contain links to other sites whose content is not controlled by The Center. In addition, links to the Website may appear on third party websites on which The Center advertises. All these websites, which are controlled by third parties, contain privacy statements, terms and conditions for use that are separate and independent from ours and that we recommend you read carefully.

The Center has no control over these websites and, therefore, The Center cannot be held responsible for the manner in which these third parties operate these websites or collect, use, disclose, obtain or otherwise process your personal information.


The Center has established and enforces administrative, technical and physical security measures to protect your personal information under its control against unauthorized access, use, modification and disclosure.

We have procedures in place for the retention of personal information that are designed to preserve personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described above or to otherwise meet the requirements of the law.


In certain circumstances, your personal information may be collected, disclosed, used or stored outside of Canada by The Center’s service providers, and such personal information may be disclosed in accordance with the applicable laws in the concerned territories. These laws may not always provide the same level of protection as Canadian privacy laws.


You have the right to access and update your personal information under our control and to correct any errors that may appear in such information, subject to certain exceptions provided by law.

However, if you withdraw your consent, we may be unable to continue to respond or process requests that you make or have made to us, or otherwise assist you with the Website.
